i live no longer at the mercy of my internet connection. i no longer have to disconnect to make a phone call. i no longer click on the "low bandwidth" version of links. i am, once again, WITH DSL.

ok, with a little ingenuity and technical creativity, i was able to replace all the news items i'd deleted. except three. if you happened to have copied any of these items, would you be so kind as to email them to me?

October 10, 2000: " oops "

toying with my news application, i managed to write a piece of code that emptied the database and deleted every last news item. so i'm slowly recreating it all and you will notice that most things are incomplete. (doofus)
