my electricity bill, which had rocketed up to $119 only a couple months ago (i live alone so this is a ridiculous number) is only $56 this month. while this is still more than it should be, i have made much progress.

at one of the peace marches i went to this year, i saw a sign that said, "fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity." did you miss that one? do you really think that breaking windows, carrying knives and tasers and slingshots, fighting with the cops, and harassing people in their cars is going to achieve your cause? why is it you think that Bush's "violence for peace" is any worse than yours? block traffic, get arrested for civil disobedience, stage sit-ins, march, yell, scream, sign petitions, vote, be heard, shut down the city -- but do it peacefully because peace is what you're seeking. don't break windows just because they belong to a corporation. don't attack people just because they drive a car. don't treat the cops like your enemies just because they're doing their jobs. be enlightened citizens in this world. most of you are working hard to change it for the better but the few who are doing it through violence are making me sick.
