woo, earthquake! it was a really slow one. i thought i was just getting dizzy until i noticed the metal blinds were banging against the window. lasted quite a few seconds. weirdest quake i've ever been through.

my mom woke me up early yesterday morning. she sounded very calm on the phone. "your sister passed out and hit her head yesterday and she woke up today and can't get out of bed. she keeps passing out." my mom is amazingly in control and centered during crises. "can you drive down and take her to the emergency room."

did anyone else watch SciFi's Battlestar Galactica miniseries? it was awesome. i grew up on that show as a kid but even back then it was a little cheesy and reaked of the 70s. but this new miniseries held only a storyline in relation to the original. it was dark and spooky and real and way, way, way better than i thought it'd be. i was so hooked. Corinne laughed at me because i was so into it. if you didn't catch it, i believe it's running in its entirety on Sunday. you should watch.

do you ever lift up the toilet seat intending to pee, then realize you also need to poo, turn around and, without replacing the seat, sit down, falling ass first into the chilly water below? not that i would ever be so forgetful as to do something like that, of course. i'm just asking.
